University of Basrah organizes an electronic symposium on the water crisis

College of Education for Women at University of Basrah organized an electronic symposium entitled "The Water Crisis and its Impact on Economic Development in Iraq".

 The symposium presented by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Diwan, a lecturer in the Department of Geography and Teaching, Mais Faisal Ghazi from Al-Mustansiri University, addressed the water crisis, which is one of the most important problems facing agricultural production in Iraq and is due to several reasons, including water losses by evaporation from irrigation channels, which reach (1018).  m 3) and water losses by leakage or leaching from the irrigation channels that reach (1068940000 m3) from (10) irrigation channels only in the district of Abi Al-Khasib, which is equivalent to (106894000000 liters)
 And that the water tanks carry (36000 liters), this means that the above water wastes are equivalent to (2,970) water tanks from (10) irrigation channels only.

 The symposium presented the most important treatments for this weak phenomenon and a solution to the problem is lining the irrigation channels with concrete concrete for its high ability to retain water and not being exposed to leakage.
