University of Basrah holds a panel discussion on the role of psychology in supporting health institutions

College of Education for Women at University of Basra held a seminar discussion on the role of psychology in supporting health institutions.

The seminar aims to highlight the role of psychology in dealing with cases or crises faced by society, and the importance of psychology in developing solutions and treatments for that.

The episode presented by Dr. Rifaat Abdullah Jassim Al-Tarisi in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences dealt with the potentials that psychology possesses to help health institutions in times of crisis, as is the case with the Covid-19 pandemic (Corona).

The episode touched on that these capabilities can be divided mainly into four axes: follow-up psychological processes, especially negative ones that appear as a result of exposure to disease, the second axis relates to managing the media discourse within the crisis cell, and the third axis relates to providing a psychologically healthy work environment for workers in the health institution  And the fourth axis relates to carrying out studies and research that enhance the performance of the health institution.
