University of Basrah organizes a panel discussion on the transformation of power and applications in political geography

   College of Education for Women at University of Basrah organized a panel discussion entitled Transformation of Power and Applications in Political Geography.

 The discussion panel presented by Dr. Fahd Mizban Khazar, a lecturer in the Department of Geography, dealt with the transformation in the international system between the United States and China, and the rise of China and its challenge to the position of the United States through some indicators such as external debt and economic growth.

 The discussion panel also indicated that the transformation will be through changing from soft power to dynamic power, in contrast to the United States, which tends to hard power and military interventions. This indicator has caused a decline in the role of the United States politically and the beginning of the role shifting to China.
