University of Basrah organizes a symposium on female students and electronic extortion
College of Education for Women at University of Basrah organized a symposium entitled Female Students and Electronic Extortion from Fear to Confrontation.
The symposium aimed to direct the students to beware of electronic blackmail and to guide them on how to avoid falling into it and reduce the psychological effects of those who were exposed to it.
The symposium, which was held by the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences, dealt with the phenomenon of electronic blackmail and its definition and the most important reasons that students expect in it, with a presentation of the methods of blackmail and its methods of luring the victim.
The symposium discussed the role of educational counseling in mitigating the psychological effects of the victim who was subjected to extortion, as well as the position of Islamic law on electronic extortion and providing advice on avoiding it.
The symposium showed the most important legal procedures that the victim must follow and report on to arrest and control the blackmailer.
