University of Basrah organizes a Seminar on traditional e-marketing

College of Education for Women at the University of Basra organized a Seminar entitled E- and traditional marketing, a comparative study

The seminar aimed to highlight the most important features of e-marketing compared to traditional marketing and the types and importance of e-marketing.

The seminar, which was organized by the Department of Geography and presented by the inlecturer, Wael Qassem, dealt with e-marketing, which means the process of promoting or buying and selling through Internet-based means (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), search engines, electronic stores, e-mail, smartphones, and various websites and applications.

As for traditional marketing, it is done through the traditional methods of displaying the product for sale in shops and outlets of different companies. Advertising for it may be limited to television or printed ads through newspapers and magazines, as well as radio, or even through direct communication between the representative of the company and the consumer.

As for the advantages and disadvantages of e-marketing and imitation marketing, e-marketing is less expensive and easier to reach to huge and unlimited numbers of people in different regions of the world, where the geographical dimension does not affect it in any way.  While traditional marketing requires exorbitant amounts and hard effort to reach the consumer, it is difficult to deliver the advertising message to a particular group.
