University of Basrah organizes a seminar on traffic accidents in Basra Governorate

College of Education for Women at the University of Basra organized a panel discussion entitled "Spatial Analysis of Traffic Accidents in Basra Governorate for the year 2020".

 This study aims to reveal the causes of this problem and work on developing treatments, taking advantage of scientific experiences and modern technologies used in this field, according to a mechanism that contributes to reducing the rate of accidents in the governorate in the future.

 The seminar presented by Dr. Maha Shaker Jabr, a lecturer in the Department of Geography, dealt with traffic accidents and the resulting human and material losses, and the great repercussions they have on the national economy.  Great efforts from the administrative organs of the state and from all directions.

 The episode touched on traffic accidents in Basra Governorate that occurred during the year 2020 to know their temporal and spatial distribution, indicators of their danger and the extent to which society is affected by them, as well as knowing the causes that lead to their occurrence, showing the effectiveness of roads and their absorption of the increasing number of vehicles, and analyzing data related to the characteristics and results of accidents.

 She added, despite the efforts made by the competent authorities to reduce the number of traffic accidents in the governorate;  However, it is still witnessing a significant increase.
