The University of Basra organizes a panel discussion on the impact of climate change on biodiversity

The College of Education for Women at the University of Basra organized a panel discussion entitled “The Impact of Climate and Environmental Changes on Changing Wild Biodiversity in Western Basra Governorate.”

The study aimed to shed light on the impact of climatic and environmental changes on Basra Governorate and some factors affecting biodiversity, especially wild animal diversity in western Basra Governorate.

The study presented by Dr. Ali Nasser Abdullah from the Department of Geography examined the presence of a clear impact of climate change and biological interference on wild animal biodiversity through the extinction of some types of biodiversity.

He added that some other species are still threatened with extinction as a result of changing the environmental situation resulting from changing the food habitats of biodiversity, and the study recorded the extinction of ten species and the threat of about fifteen other species at risk of extinction.
