The College of Education for Girls at the University of Basra organized a scientific trip to the presidential palaces complex to visit museums
The visit aimed to identify the contents and assets of natural museums for the purpose of linking the study material with the practical aspect.
The visit, organized by the Geographical Department, dealt with viewing the Natural History Museum and Basra Civilization Museum, viewing the types of rocks and sediments, and learning about marine and terrestrial biodiversity.
It included the use of modern geographical techniques, especially the global positioning device (GPS) and geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing RS, and using them in a scientific way to infer the locations of natural phenomena on the banks of the Shatt al-Arab.
