An electronic symposium was held in the Division of Continuing Education in the College of Education for Girls / University of Basra entitled (Social dimensions of the phenomenon of suicide and methods of treatment - Dhi Qar Governorate as a model).
The symposium delivered by Assistant Professor Murtada Muzaffar Sahar Al-Kaabi included the phenomenon of suicide in Dhi Qar Governorate for the period 2015-2020, because suicide is one of the most important social, psychological and educational problems that suicide bombers and their families suffer from.
The symposium aimed to explain the reasons behind the emotions and psychological tensions of some people who end up committing suicide
The symposium concluded that the most important successful solutions to suicide cases in the governorate is to enact laws to record suicide cases, stimulate satellite channels to address the phenomenon, and issue maximum penalties for those who encourage suicide.
