The University of Basra organizes the second scientific conference on contemporary geographical research and the challenges of the twenty-first century
The Department of Geography at the College of Education for Girls at the University of Basra organized its second scientific conference on contemporary geographical research and the challenges of the twenty-first century, in cooperation with the Oil Pipelines Company.
The conference included three main axes. The first axis was devoted to human geographic research. The second axis was devoted to natural geographic research, while the third dealt with geographic techniques.
26 researchers from outside and inside Iraq participated in the conference
The conference came out with a number of recommendations, including: supporting applied research and studies to serve the supply process and sustainable development for the advancement of the various sectors of the country, encouraging scientific studies that address the problems that the Basra community suffers from, especially in the environmental fields, pollution, climate change, drought, societal problems, and the development of scientific approaches in the field of Geography and conversion towards the applied direction
