University of Basrah organizes a symposium on the Palestinian issue throughout history
The Department of History at the College of Education for Girls organized a symposium on the Palestinian issue throughout history, presented by Dr. Muntaha Sabri, Dr. Kawthar Ghadban, and the lecturer Doaa Adnan.
The first axis dealt with Palestine in ancient history, such as the origin of the name, the peoples who inhabited it, and the prophets who visited it and were buried there, in addition to its importance in Islamic heritage such as the Holy Qur’an, the Noble Prophet’s Sunnah, and the hadiths of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon him).
The second axis touched on the beginnings of the occupation of Palestine by the usurping Zionist entity, and highlighted the international resolutions that encouraged this, such as the Balfour Declaration, the Sykes-Picot Agreement, and others.
It concluded with the third topic, which talked about the role of the Soviet Union and current Russia in the Palestinian issue, especially during the era of current Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The fourth axis concluded with the Palestinian resistance’s Al-Aqsa Flood operation, the current Israeli war it launched against Gaza, the martyrs who fell as a result of it, and the international and regional position on it.
