A lecturer from the College of Education for Girls, member of the discussion committee for a doctoral thesis on the conditions of the Jews in Greek and Roman sources
The lecturer in the History Department, Dr. Hassan Thajib Al-Rikabi, participated in the discussion of his doctoral thesis at the College of Arts at the University of Basra, about the conditions of the Jews in Greek and Roman sources (500 BC - 200 AD).
The study aimed to identify the possibility of adopting the narratives of these Greek and Roman writers in forming a solid and reliable basis for studying the common history between Jews, nations, and ancient states, and whether historians adhered to impartiality and were characterized by honesty.
The letter concluded that there is a convergence in the mentality and texts of Jewish and Greek historians with the biblical writings, despite the additions and deletions that occur here and there, they are closer to the truth.
