A lecturer at the University of Basra publishes an article about Chat GPT is a double-edged sword

Lecturer Hussein Abdul Karim Younis from the College of Education for Girls published an article entitled “Chat GPT is a double-edged sword in the medical field and health care” in Salamatak magazine, which deals with health culture and is issued by the Iraqi Society for Medical Research and Studies.

The article aims to show the positive and negative aspects of the Chat GPT application that relate to the medical field and health care.

The article touched on the linguistic processing power of ChatGPT and its amazing abilities to understand human language and produce convincing texts, which enables it to provide potential information, in addition to containing huge amounts of data, which enhances its ability to improve its performance and provide better services.

The article also discussed that although ChatGPT is able to produce logical texts, it does not have real awareness or deep understanding of context and meanings, and excessive reliance on technology can lead to reduced human interaction.

The article concluded that ChatGPT is not a substitute for a personal medical diagnosis by a specialist doctor, and relying on its information may cause a delay in receiving necessary medical care.
