University of Basra organizes a seminar on Christian religious discourse and its impact on the Christian-Islamic conflict in Spain
The Department of History at the College of Education for Girls organized a panel discussion on Christian religious discourse and its impact on the Christian-Islamic conflict in Spain, presented by researcher Sarah Ramzi.
The episode dealt with the Wars of Reconquest, which is a term used by Spanish historians to describe the military campaigns launched by Christian kingdoms against Islamic kingdoms in the fifth century AH/eleventh century AD.
The episode noted that despite the many studies that dealt with these wars, they did not refer to the Christian religious discourse and its impact in motivating and supporting these campaigns, as this discourse had an impact in this conflict.
