A researcher from the University of Basra discusses a master's thesis on expressionism in the sculptures of the world-renowned sculptor Henry Spencer Moore

Researcher Haider Abdul Amir Al-Wahili from the College of Education for Girls discussed a master’s thesis entitled “Expressionism in the Sculptures of the International Sculptor Henry Spencer Moore” at Azad University in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The message aims to get to know the artist Henry Moore and the expressive nature of his sculptures, learn about the expressionist school and its importance, in addition to extracting the aesthetic and plastic values ​​of selected sculptures from the sculptor’s work.

The thesis consisted of five chapters. The first chapter dealt with generalities, basics, a statement of the problem, the importance of the problem, and the necessity of discussion and hypotheses. The second chapter dealt with the life of the artist and sculptor Henry Moore, his path to fame, and an analysis of his expressive works.

The third chapter presented the value of expression in Moore’s artistic works and its external structure, and the fourth chapter highlighted the common features between the works of the sculptor Henry Moore, the value of his works, and the modern style in his works. The final chapter explained the most important results, previous discussions, and proposals for the study.
