University of Basra holds a celebration of the International Arabic Language Day

The Arabic Language Department at the College of Education for Girls held a celebration on the occasion of International Arabic Language Day in the presence of the Dean of the College, Dr. Amal Muhammad Abdel Karim, as an expression of his celebration of this generous language that is associated with the eternal miracle (the Holy Qur’an).

The celebration ceremony opened with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, a speech by the Dean of the College, in which she pointed out some of the features that distinguish our Arabic language, and a speech by Dr. Ashwaq Ghazi Safih about the Arabic language and its relationship with the Book of God Almighty.

The celebration included activities for the students, including an art exhibition of their creativity in drawing and calligraphy, which reflected the beauty of the Arabic language. They also presented poetic debates, prose texts, and speeches about the Arabic language and the Holy Quran.
