The Women's Empowerment Unit at the College of Education for Girls, in cooperation with the Second Police College in Basra Governorate, organized an educational symposium entitled (Electronic Blackmail).

The symposium discussed the history of the emergence of the phenomenon of electronic blackmail in Iraqi society and the Arab world, the differences in societies, and the entry of modern electronic and digital containers for it, as well as the causes of this phenomenon and how to guard against falling into it.

The symposium touched on the fact that the security authorities possess all the capabilities in terms of the people, the relevant units, and the trained officers to follow up on any complaint submitted by anyone exposed to this phenomenon in order to reduce this dangerous societal phenomenon.

The symposium added that one should not enter unidentified and random websites, one should not exchange correspondence with unknown people, one should be careful not to open any picture, video, or electronic link sent to them, and one should not place any private personal picture on electronic communication sites.
