The University of Basra organizes a symposium on “Administrative and financial corruption in academic institutions.”


 

 

The College of Education for Girls/Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the University of Basra organized a symposium entitled “Administrative and Financial Corruption in Academic Institutions.”

The symposium in which Assistant Professor Wafa Ali Sultan lectured included the concept of administrative corruption and its impact on society, because administrative and financial corruption is considered a rapidly spreading global phenomenon. It is a deadly societal scourge that has been found in all eras and societies and in all economic and political systems.

Dr. Muhammad Jawad Abdel Samad, a lecturer at Al-Kunoz College/Law Department, touched on the most important legal penalties imposed and that must be applied to those responsible for corruption in academic institutions.

In her focus, Professor Dr. Hana Abdel Nabi Al-Abadi referred to the concept of academic corruption in institutions of higher education and scientific research. Because the university is one of the cultural components in terms of the role it plays in society, the university professor is the main axis upon which the university is based, as he is an employee who performs his job in education and accordingly. Carrying out his work within an ethical and honest framework.

The symposium aimed to identify the manifestations of academic corruption in universities, to identify the most prominent of these manifestations in the educational and administrative aspects, and scientific research, and to strive diligently to get rid of these phenomena in the service of society, and to explain the most important legal measures taken to reduce them, and to strive to reach planning indicators to enhance the values ​​of integrity.
