A doctoral thesis at University of Basrah discusses the revolution of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) in the Salafi novel

The College of Education for Women - University of Basra examined a PhD thesis entitled “Al- Hussain’s Revolution According to Salafi Narrative until the Ninth Century AH/ Fifteenth Century AD: An Analytical Study"

The study presented by the student "Sundus Sabeeh Muhammad Al-Hasan" aimed to trace the bases of Salafi intellectual approach to Al- Hussain’s revolution in the Salafi narrative over historical centuries until the ninth century AH/ fifteenth century AD. The study extracted the narratives about Al- Hussain’s revolution that had been distorted from its true divine path by some Muslim historians who had adopted the Salafi intellectual approach, and then criticised and analysed these narratives.

The study recommended that the researcher and reader of Al- Hussain’s revolution should be careful and precise in reading the historical texts about Al- Hussain’s revolution and not to accept everything written about it.
