A lecturer at the College of Education for Girls at the University of Basra, M.M. Mutab Abdul-Hussein Al-Rikabi, participated in the 17th Scientific Conference of the College of Humanities, Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences, University of Diyala.
The participation included presenting a research paper entitled "The Role of Educational Institutions in Reducing the Spread of Drugs".
The research aimed to demonstrate the importance of the role of the family and school as the two main institutions in raising awareness and preventing this phenomenon. The study emphasized the importance of the family as a basic environment for building the character of children and promoting moral values, with the need to launch joint awareness campaigns between the family, school and media, and to introduce educational programs on drug prevention within the curricula, and to enhance cooperation with non-governmental organizations, and to establish support and guidance centers for youth to provide the necessary consultations.
