
The Dean of the College of Education for Girls, Dr. Amal Abdul Karim, attended the central memorial ceremony to commemorate the martyrdom of the leaders of victory, may God bless their souls, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis and Qasem Soleimani. The ceremony was organized by the Department of Media and Government Communication and the Department of University Follow-up at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Islamic Cultural Center of the South.
The representative of the university president and director of the scientific affairs department, Dr. Muhannad Hamid Abboud, said, “These days mark the fifth anniversary of the departure of the two martyrs, the two happy ones, as a result of the heinous crime committed by the American aggression against them at Baghdad International Airport. They fell as martyrs in the field of pride, honor, and dignity. Here we are gathered to commemorate and offer our condolences to ourselves, the Islamic world, and all of humanity for the departure of these heroes. Blessed are they for this victory, blessed are they for that sacrifice, and that happy ending, and blessed are they when they boarded the ship of Al-Hussein, peace be upon him, and joined the caravan of Husseini love.” The memorial ceremony included reading verses from the Holy Quran and reciting Surat Al-Fatihah in honor of the souls of the two martyrs and the souls of the martyrs of the Holy Popular Mobilization Forces, and enthusiastic words and popular poems that were chanted by poets with love for the homeland and defense of the faith and sanctities, and a (couplet) by the Fatemiyoun band and a celebration of the achievements of the student team (Creatives from My University) and a short narrative film was shown that embodies the story of martyrdom, sacrifice and redemption.
