A lecturer at the University of Basra has been selected as a scientific expert for promotion to the rank of professor at Lahj University, Republic of Yemen.

Professor Dr. Ahmed Jassim Mohammed Al-Hassan, Head of the Geography Department at the University of Basra, College of Education for Girls, was selected as a scientific expert for promotion to the rank of professor at Lahj University, Republic of Yemen, specializing in physical geography.

The professor stated that the research submitted for promotion to the rank of professor concerned the natural aspects of the Republic of Yemen, addressing drought, water resource problems, and their impact on economic activities and population.
