The University of Basra organized a seminar on violence against women, titled "Violence Against Women: Causes and Treatment." The seminar, organized by the College of Education for Women at the University of Basra, aimed to define violence against women as defined by international organizations. It also highlighted the social, cultural, and economic factors that contribute to the spread of violence and explained the negative effects of violence against women on the individual, the family, and society. Furthermore, it emphasized the importance of strengthening the role of educational and media institutions in preventing violence against women, as well as the role of youth, especially university students, in confronting violence against women and building a safe and just society. The seminar, which was attended by Lieutenant Colonel Muntadhar Kadhim Na'ma from the Community Police, Dr. Hanaa Abdulnabi Al-Abadi, and Ms. Iman Hassan Sultan, took place on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 10:00 AM in Al-Zahraa Hall.
