The College of Education at the University of Basra, under the supervision of the Dean, Dr. Amal Muhammad Abdul Karim, organized a seminar entitled "Drugs: A Scourge on Society." The seminar aimed to highlight the dangers of drugs and their health, psychological, and social repercussions, and to demonstrate the importance of prevention as the first line of defense against this scourge, especially among young people. The seminar, which featured Dr. Dirgham Al-Ajoudi, President of the Iraqi Association for Medical Studies and Research, Dr. Makarem Hassan Abdul Sayed, and Dr. Hanaa Abdul Nabi Al-Abadi, addressed the reasons for the spread of drugs, ways to prevent them, the role of the family and academic institutions in promoting community awareness, as well as emphasizing the importance of moral and religious values ​​in protecting the individual from deviant behavior.
