The College of Education for Women at the University of Basrah organized a scientific workshop titled “How to Choose Local and International Academic Journals,” with the participation of a number of researchers and postgraduate students.
The workshop, presented by Dr. Hussein Abdul Kareem Younis and Dr. Abbas Qasim Atiya from the Department of History, addressed several key topics focusing on how to select appropriate academic journals for publication, mechanisms for effective communication with journal editorial boards, and the essential steps researchers should follow to ensure the acceptance of their papers.
In another aspect, the workshop highlighted the methodology of writing scientific research in a rigorous academic style, emphasizing adherence to a well-structured format, accuracy in citation, clarity in presenting ideas, and strict compliance with each journal’s submission guidelines. These elements contribute to producing research that is both professionally presented and academically acceptable.
This workshop comes as part of the department’s efforts to support researchers and develop their academic skills, in line with the requirements of modern scientific research and international publishing standards.
