The College of Engineering at the University of Basrah organized a specialized training workshop titled "Systematic Review Methods and Writing Review Articles Using the PRISMA Protocol". The workshop was hosted by the Department of Mechatronics Engineering as part of the "Artificial Intelligence, Digital Transformation, and Society" initiative, with the participation of a number of researchers and academics.
The workshop aimed to enhance researchers' skills in conducting systematic reviews and writing high-quality review articles in accordance with international standards, thereby improving the quality of scientific publishing and strengthening research productivity.
The workshop, delivered by Dr. Hussein Abdul Kareem Younis, provided a comprehensive practical explanation of the methodology for conducting systematic reviews using the PRISMA protocol. The presentation covered the entire review process, including defining the research problem, formulating research questions, developing search strategies for scientific databases, screening and selecting studies, assessing study quality, and analyzing and reporting findings in accordance with internationally recognized standards. Practical examples were also presented to help researchers produce rigorous review articles suitable for publication in leading international journals.
The workshop recommended expanding researchers' training on the PRISMA methodology, encouraging the preparation of high-quality systematic review articles, and promoting publication in reputable international journals. These efforts will contribute to advancing scientific research and enhancing the academic ranking of the University of Basrah.
