The President of the University of Basrah, Dr. Aqeel Fadhil Al-Dahan, received Atyaf Zuhair Al-Tamimi, Member of the Basrah Provincial Council and Chair of the Economic Development and Investment Committee, to discuss ways of strengthening economic integration and developing investment strategies based on scientific planning and research.

The meeting focused on preparing economic feasibility studies and advisory visions to support major investment projects in the province, as well as creating a suitable environment for attracting investment and directing university research toward addressing real-world economic challenges and developing the local business environment.

Dr. Al-Dahan affirmed the University’s readiness to place its expertise centers and economic and advisory units at the disposal of the Development Committee, providing reliable scientific data and studies to support economic decision-making and contribute to the success of investment projects.

For her part, Al-Tamimi highlighted the importance of involving the academic sector in developing the province’s economic policies and emphasized the Committee’s commitment to establishing a sustainable partnership with the University to stimulate investment activity and contribute to creating new employment opportunities for the people of Basrah.
