University of Basrah Organizes a Seminar on Air Pollution Monitoring

The College of Education for Women at the University of Basra organized a seminar on monitoring air pollution in Basra Governorate using remote sensing.The seminar aimed to highlight remote sensing techniques for monitoring air pollution levels in Basra and identifying environmental pollution hotspots, with the goal of devising scientific solutions to improve air quality and protect public health.Presented by Dr. Hanan Ahmed Abdul-Karim, the seminar covered scientific topics focusing on the analysis of space-based data and satellite imagery to track gaseous emissions and dust particles in the governorate's atmosphere.
The seminar recommended implementing continuous pollutant monitoring systems, utilizing modern digital technologies in environmental studies, and expanding green spaces to mitigate pollution risks.
