The College of Education for Women at Basra University organized an electronic lecture on welfare states and the requirements for their establishment in Iraq (the Scandinavian countries as an example).
The lecture given by Dr. Maha Karim Ali from the Directorate of Education in the Qadisiyah Governorate dealt with the welfare states, which are the countries that implement the market policy in addition to providing services, social insurance and aid to members of society in order to achieve a decent standard of living.
She added that there are many countries that have pursued the policy of welfare states, including the Nordic countries represented by the Scandinavian countries that have climbed to the top of the ladder of welfare states for their comprehensive policy of securing social services and social security for all residents and their commitment to providing the basic needs of their citizens.
Since the Iraqi constitution of 2005 included in its paragraphs what supports the welfare state, and in order for Iraq to rise and rise to the welfare ladder, there must be legislative and institutional requirements, as well as the financial requirements to achieve this.
