The College of Education for Girls at Basra University organized an electronic lecture on binge eating disorder, diagnosis and treatments

The lecture aims to study this situation and diagnose its causes, whether psychological or health, and propose treatments for it in order to reduce or contain it.

The lecture that was held by the Continuing Education Unit at the college and presented by Dr. Iman Nehme Al-Mousawi from the Directorate of Education in Holy Karbala and Dr. Hana Abdul Nabi Al-Abadi from the College of Education for Girls discussed the case of binge eating disorder that can be associated with feelings of shame, poor self-vision, and so on. From negative emotions.

In the lecture, the methods of treating this condition were presented through psychotherapy, which is also called dialogue therapy, whether alone or in group sessions, which helps the patient learn how to replace unhealthy habits with healthy habits and reduce binge eating, and cognitive-behavioral therapy, which helps in better adapting to problems. that can trigger binge-eating episodes, such as negative feelings about your body or mood.

In addition to interpersonal communication psychotherapy, which focuses this type of therapy on its relationships with people and improving communication skills with others, as for dialectical behavioral therapy. Which helps this model to learn behavioral skills to withstand psychological stress, and regulate emotions, all of which can reduce the desire to binge eat.
