 A master’s thesis at the College of Education for Women at the University of Basra discussed the urban and civilized aspect of the city of Baghdad in the book Al-Muntazam in the History of Kings and Nations by Ibn al-Jawzi, who died in 597 AH / 1200 AD.

 The thesis presented by the researcher Habib Ali Al-Jazaery included an introduction and three chapters, as well as a conclusion with the research results and a list of sources and references.

 The thesis indicated that the book Al-Muntazam in the History of Kings and Nations is full of books that preceded it, full of historical events over the years, and its exposure to administrative accidents in the planning of cities, natural accidents, fires, torrents, floods and earthquakes.  about him.

 The study came to shed light on this city through what Ibn al-Jawzi recorded in his book of abundant material with its details and narration of its events, in addition to that he mentioned many events and cultural landmarks of the city, which he himself was often a living witness to its events and his contemporaneous with many variables in  .

  The study concluded that there was no political, social and intellectual stability in the period specified in the study, and it also showed us the landmarks of the city and its cultural and urban content within a specific historical scientific vision and shed light on the most prominent events that Baghdad witnessed and affected it during long periods of time.
