Basra University organizes an electronic lecture on International Father's Day
The College of Education for Women at the University of Basra organized an electronic lecture on International Father’s Day
The lecture aims to show the role of the father in the family, as his personality represents the importance of preserving the entity of this family, imitating him and feeling reassured in his presence.
The lecture presented by Dr. Hana Abdel Nabi Al-Abadi, Head of the Guidance Unit at the college, and Dr. Afifa Taha Yassin from the College of Education for Human Sciences dealt with the fact that the presence of a father in the lives of children means protection and care for them, and means role models, authority and family integration. It differs from what they find in the mother, because the father is the main shepherd of the family and responsible for his flock, as he is the first teacher in the lives of the children.
The lecture touched on that the misconception that the father’s role is limited to providing housing, clothing and expenses, and they consider him the authoritarian, strict dictator in everything, must be corrected. Through his interest in his children, accompanying them, and knowing their thoughts, tendencies and hobbies.
