Two lecturers from University of Basra are on the editorial board of Basra Heritage Journal

 Two lecturers from the College of Education for Women were chosen as part of the editorial board of the Basra Heritage Journal, which is issued by the Basra Heritage Center affiliated with Knowledge Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine.

 Dr. Muhammad Qassem Neemeh from the Department of Arabic Language and Dr. Rahim Helou Muhammad from the Department of History were chosen within the research committee that provides and evaluates research submitted to the center in addition to that they participate with the center in holding seminars and other scientific activities

 The center issues two Journals, the first entitled Basra Heritage Journal, which is a refereed scientific journal, and the second bears the name of the step, which specializes in publishing studies on Basra, past and present.
