University of Basra organizes a lecture on press coverage of wars, conflicts and protests
The College of Education for Women at the University of Basra organized an electronic lecture entitled Press coverage of wars, conflicts and protests.
The lecture aims to clarify the role that the journalist plays in reporting and documenting the event, as well as the dangers he faces while covering wars and conflicts and ways to raise awareness to avoid the risks of that.
The lecture presented by Dr. Alaa Najeh Nouri from the Iraqi University, College of Media , dealt with an explanation of the concept of press coverage, which is the process of obtaining information, data or details of a specific event related to a specific incident. And take note of its causes, place of occurrence, how it occurred and when.
The lecture touched upon that as long as human life is more precious than any important news or press coverage, and in order to preserve the lives of journalists in war zones, conflicts and protests while covering them, there are conditions, advice, rules and a roadmap that they must follow in order for them to survive, the success of their coverage and their safe return to their homes and families.
