University of Basra as part of the Satisfaction Project, organizes a lecture on the phenomenon of divorce in Iraq
The College of Education for Women at the University of Basra organized, as part of the Satisfaction project, an electronic lecture entitled “The phenomenon of divorce in Iraqi society, its causes and methods of treatment.”
The aim of the lecture was that when you hear that in one month there are more than six thousand cases of divorce in all of Iraq or more, until the percentage reached 20% of the marriage rate; This means that there is a very dangerous indicator that has its causes and effects on the societal structure
Therefore, this dangerous phenomenon must be curbed.
The lecture, which was presented by lawyer and trainer Walid Noman from the Holy University of Karbala, College of Law, touched on the many reasons that lead to divorce, namely: marriage at an early age, parents’ interference between spouses negatively, some people using mobile phones and social media negatively, which in turn leads to marital infidelities, And other reasons.
The lecture also dealt with ways to treat this phenomenon through: both spouses focus on the points of good and positive matters between them and leave the scrutiny and focus on the negatives of each other, understanding and clarity between the two parties and agreeing to solve the problem, if any, delaying marriage until after adolescence, and limiting the interference of parents between Spouses and not stir up negative things and quarrels.
The lecture recommended that this very dangerous phenomenon in society should be curbed because of its repercussions in the fragmentation of families and the destruction of society, and the holding of more educational seminars and awareness lectures, and warning against the spread of this dangerous phenomenon.
