Basra University organizes a lecture on soft skills in teaching

The College of Education for Women at the University of Basra organized an electronic lecture entitled “Soft skills in teaching and their role in supplying the labor market.”

The lecture, which was presented by Dr. Anwar Abdel Qader, a lecturer in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences, touched on soft skills, which are meant the personal characteristics that make up the lifestyle, including communication, self-management and group.

She addressed that these skills, in cooperation with the hard skills, which are the techniques and information that the individual obtains through his studies or the training courses in which he participates, constitute a successful force to face all the difficulties or problems that the individual may face.

The lecture recommended that colleges and universities should pay attention to their educational programs, as well as give university activities to students to develop these skills for them;  In order to bridge the gap between the labor market and the level of academic output.
