A doctoral thesis at the University of Basra discussing the philosophy of altruism in the thought of the Imams of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).

A doctoral thesis at the College of Education for Women at the University of Basra discussed the philosophy of altruism in the thought of the Imams of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).

The thesis of the researcher Mazen Khudair Abbas included four chapters preceded by the introduction and followed by the conclusion and results. The first chapter dealt with altruism linguistically and idiomatically, altruism in the Noble Qur’an and the Noble Hadith, and altruism in the pre-Islamic Arab era and the Prophet’s biography.

The second chapter dealt with the religious altruism of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), including the altruism of Imam Ali bin Abi Talib and his two sons, Hassan and Hussein (peace be upon them), and the altruism of the infallible imams from the sons of Hussein (peace be upon them) from Imam al-Sajjad to Imam al-Askari.

And the third chapter included the political and military altruism of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon him).

The fourth chapter contained the economic altruism of the household and its impact on the social reality of the people of their society and their vision of financial giving to people.

The study concluded that the term altruism is important in human life and that it expresses a very high level of human perfection, and that studying the subject of altruism in the thought of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon him) has great benefits for society, as it revives positive concepts in the human soul such as (generosity, generosity, giving and sacrifice..  etc.) which all the heavenly laws have called for, and these concepts are in dire need of what we have at the present time due to the very difficult circumstances our countries are going through.
