The symposium dealt with the phenomenon of early marriage, or what is known as the marriage of minors, which is a formal or informal marriage for children under the age of 18 years, and that the majority of those affected are girls, most of whom are in low social and economic conditions. on females
The symposium included many reasons for marriage, including poverty, dowry, traditions, laws, illiteracy, and others, and this marriage affects the health of girls from premature birth or leads to death or weight loss, and her psychological state is unstable and deprives her of her childhood and this leads her to losing her future
She addressed the most prominent initiatives to prevent child marriage in 2012, the first International Day of the Girl Child, and it became a campaign announced to curb this phenomenon.
