A panel discussion was held in the Department of Geography in the College of Education for Girls entitled (Residential land between influencing factors and population requirements - a study of the reality of the city of Basra)
The panel discussion delivered by the teacher, Dr. Ahmed Siraj Jaber Al-Asadi, aims to identify the factors affecting the prices of residential lands and their spatial and temporal differences in the neighborhoods of the city of Basra.
The panel discussion also emphasized the conversion of residential lands to other uses, especially commercial use, which contributed to raising the price of land
  The study also emphasized the role of services in increasing the demand for land, as well as the role of distributing land by the state to multiple groups of society. It also emphasized the laws dealing with real estate and government procedures in that regard
