University of Basra organizes a student activity on perfectionism and ways to achieve it

The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Education for Girls organized a student activity entitled Perfectionism and how to achieve it.

The activity aimed to enhance the students’ ability and skills in presentation and production and to encourage them to participate so that they have an active social personality in society.

The activity touched on the concept of perfectionism, which is the attempt to achieve idealism, which sometimes leads to reaching specific goals, but the problem appears if these goals are not achieved, as one then enters a state of depression as a reaction.

The activity discussed that psychological pressure to achieve unrealistic goals puts the individual in a state of depression and sadness, and perfectionists usually tend to blame themselves strongly when they fail to achieve the standards they set for themselves.
