University of Basra holds an integrated scientific symposium entitled "Awareness and Acceptance:

Confronting the Social Stigma of Cancer in Society" The College of Education for Girls in Basra established an integrated scientific symposium in cooperation with the Virtual Center for Pleasant Women and the BRC Scientific Foundation and in cooperation with many serious Arab institutions in Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia.

It aimed to highlight the importance of combating cancer and the need for early detection of periodic examinations to ensure caution and caution by following up on the causes of raising public awareness about cancer is not enough for women. And the acceptance of the infected and the social stigma of the disease.

Providing a platform to support women with wounds, to help healthy social women.

And the Dean of the College of Education for Girls in Basra, Dr. Amal Muhammad Abdul Karim, in her speech, the task of intensifying all awareness and confronting the social stigma by holding these scientific participations between various Arab and international countries to stand together in raising awareness in society.

The symposium found several different axes, which contributed to the participation of the lecturers at the College of Education for Girls in Basra with three main prominent axes, Dr. Fadia Yaqoub Youssef in her axis on the psychological resilience of women with cancer.

Dr. Dunya Salman Mohsen pointed out the role of health awareness in reducing stigma and social activities in it.

Nurse Marwa Yasser Saywan pointed out in her axis on social support and its relationship to emotional shock and resilience.

The symposium emphasized several tips related to confronting social stigma and the necessity of social support in accepting and steadfastness to confront various diseases, including breast cancer, which comes at the forefront of health awareness, early examination and early detection of the disease in cooperation with health organizations and providing the necessary care.
