The College of Education for Girls at the University of Basra held a seminar as part of the requirements of the master's thesis entitled "Spatial analysis to calculate the amount of N.P.K. compound fertilizer and its suitability for the productivity of fruit and vegetable crops in Al-Zubair District"
The seminar presented by the student Hawra Muwaffaq Muhajjar, a master's student in the College of Education for Girls, Department of Geography, aimed to highlight the importance of fertilizer used for agricultural crops, which were represented by tomato, eggplant, cucumber, squash, okra, onion, garlic, watercress and watermelon.
This episode included a statement of this type of fertilizer by increasing the effectiveness of the root zone of vegetable crops and increasing their vegetative growth, flowering and maturity. Several equations were used to calculate the amount of fertilizer (kg/acre) for each crop. Water consumption was also calculated according to the drip irrigation method, as well as calculating the quantities of triple liquid fertilizer injections into irrigation water, in addition to calculating the total quantities of fertilizers at the level of cultivated areas and production quantities and applying standard grades to divide areas and production into categories at the level of agricultural districts in each of the district center, Safwan and Umm Qasr.
