A master's thesis at the College of Education for Girls at the University of Basra discussed "Analysis of the content of the biology book for the third intermediate grade for gifted schools in light of metacognitive thinking skills"

The thesis submitted by the student Zahraa Hashim Muhammad in the Department of Psychological and Educational Sciences aims to identify the metacognitive thinking skills that must be available in the content of the biology book for the third intermediate grade for gifted schools. And to identify the extent to which the content of the biology book for the third intermediate grade for gifted schools includes metacognitive thinking skills.

The thesis included translating the book in order to analyze it and build the analysis tool and obtain its validity. The book was analyzed and the validity of the analysis was obtained after presenting it to the arbitrators and the stability of the analysis by re-analyzing it over time and agreeing with external analysts.

The thesis concluded that the content of the biology book does not include metacognitive thinking skills equally, which indicates the randomness of placing the skills.

The message recommended focusing on including all metacognitive thinking skills, both main and secondary, in all biology books in gifted schools and working on including them in the biology book for the third intermediate grade.
