President of Basra University, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim, inaugurated the virtual dissection table project in the College of Medicine with 4K technology and high resolution in the presence of academics and officials, as it was introduced for the first time at the level of Iraqi universities.
Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim stated that the opening of the virtual dissection laboratory is a wonderful step to develop the practical, applied and scientific reality of medical students and strengthens their skills because it simulates the real reality of dissection according to an advanced technical system.
The importance of this table lies in providing an interactive virtual educational environment in human anatomy as it contains several programs specialized in this field to help the student reach the finest details in the parts of the human body and delve into information about each of these parts.
Virtual tables are an integrated system of hardware and software components, where the hardware components include educational tables, a high-resolution projector, and a professor's platform (seven-core) with high resistance to scratches, breakage, and liquids, and can withstand high temperatures and long operating hours. As for the software components, they include virtual anatomical programs and a licensed lecture management program. These components are linked to an internal wired network system to facilitate the process of lecture management by the professor and the practical application process for students.
