Buthaina Adel Omran, the lecturer at the College of Education for Women at Basra University, participated in the electronic international conference held by Suliman International University in Turkey, which was entitled "The reality of the Arabic language in the African continent between the past and the present."

The participation included a study entitled "French colonial methods in obliterating the Arabic language in North Africa (Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco)" in which it dealt with the crimes committed by French colonialism when it occupied the countries of North Africa. Moreover, the first decision issued by the French forces when they occupied Algeria was to impose French as an official language in the country, and they resorted to education, so they transferred Western civilization to these countries, created elites that serve their interests, spread French education in the country, and opened French universities and schools, most of whose teachers are French.

The research aims to clarify the reason for the near absence of the Arabic language in North African countries, and to clarify the means of occupation in an attempt to obliterate the features of the Arabic language.
