University of Basra organizes a scientific visit to the Institute for the Deaf and Mute, Al-Raja Institute

 

The College of Education for Girls at the University of Basra organized a scientific visit to the Institute for the Deaf and Mute, Al-Raja Institute.

The visit, in which a group of professors from the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College of Education for Girls participated, included an awareness lecture for female students by the Director of the Institute, Ms. Wafaa Hussein Awda, on the importance of the center, noting that it is the first in Iraq and the only one in Basra Governorate and contains 400 students who learn using sign language and teaching from kindergarten to intermediate.

The visit aimed to educate female students about the deaf and mute category and to learn about the nature of their studies and how to deal with them to highlight their role in society.
