The College of Education for Women at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Educational Guidance Unit, organized a seminar entitled "The Phenomenon of Bullying on Campus (Its Causes and How to Reduce It)." The seminar aimed to offer solutions to address the phenomenon of bullying on campus, which encompasses a range of harmful behaviors that negatively impact students' academic performance, achievements, and learning. It contributes to creating an unsafe environment for them. Furthermore, bullying is a significant educational, psychological, and social problem for university students due to the crucial stage they are going through. This stage is characterized by numerous demands and features, including relatively rapid physical, mental, emotional, and social changes that require awareness from professors, parents, and the community, as well as everyone's cooperation in curbing negative bullying behavior.

The seminar, presented by the Guidance Unit in the Geography Department, included lecturer (Dr. Hanan Ahmed Abdul Karim), the Guidance Officer in the Geography Department, who addressed the phenomenon of bullying and its negative repercussions on female university students, the negative effects that result from it, and how to cope with and overcome these circumstances. Also participating were lecturers (Dr. Hasna Khazal Mawazi), (Mr. Hanin Sadiq Abdul Abbas), and (Dr. Safa Rahim Muftan), who discussed the phenomenon of bullying on campus, aiming to raise awareness among female students about the dangers of bullying and how to deal with it.
