College of Education for Women Holds a Scientific Seminar Titled “From Classical Arabic to Emojis: Transformations of Arabic Discourse in the Digital Space”
The College of Education for Women at the University of Basrah organized a scientific seminar titled “From Classical Arabic to Emojis: Transformations of Arabic Discourse in the Digital Space.” The seminar addressed the impact of digital development on the nature of linguistic communication and how emojis and expressive symbols have contributed to shaping new patterns of contemporary discourse, particularly among youth and across social media platforms.
The seminar highlighted the relationship between Classical Arabic and modern expressive tools, explaining the linguistic, semantic, and cultural dimensions introduced by emojis in the communication process. It also discussed their role in simplifying meanings and accelerating digital interaction.
