University of Basrah organizes a lecture on forest fires and their role in increasing global warming
The College of Education for Women at the University of Basra organized an electronic lecture entitled Forest fires and their role in increasing global warming.
The lecture presented by the instructor, Mais Faisal Ghazi from Al-Mustansiriya University, addressed that forest fires are one of the oldest and most common incidents and have negatively affected the ecosystem after threatening the biological system of forests, where many of them are exposed in different regions of the world, and this in turn leads to damage to the climate.
She added that experts assert that one of the main reasons for the increase in global warming is that the area of forests exposed to fires is estimated at 400 million hectares annually, which is larger than the area of India, and there are many reasons, including natural, human and sometimes deliberate, that increased these fires.
She noted that the outbreak of fires will increase and this increase will raise the global temperature and vary from one region to another in the world, and this in turn will lead to the occurrence of catastrophes that can be expected.
