A doctoral thesis at the University of Basra discusses justice and peace in ancient thought
A doctoral thesis at the College of Education for Girls discussed Justice and Peace in Ancient Thought (Iraq and Egypt as a model) by researcher Zainab Abdel Hafez Jassim.
The study aimed to clarify the ancient people’s perception of things and man’s intellectual contemplations, in addition to the fact that most, if not all, studies of ancient history did not address the study of thought and its effects.
The study included four chapters, in addition to the introduction and conclusion. The first chapter dealt with the cultural features of Iraq and Egypt, and the second chapter dealt with the sources of justice and peace and their linguistic and terminological meaning, whether in customs, legislation, laws, and executive institutions.
The third chapter deals with justice and peace in Iraqi and Egyptian political thought, and the fourth chapter concludes with justice and peace in ancient religious thought (gods and myths).
